Agathis - Araucaria - Wollemia   "Past, Present and Future"

The above symposium is now in the past.  For the present we request that those interested in the Proceedings read on.

The Symposium has taken place, was very well attended and we are sure, enjoyed by all.

Of those attending, all had an interest in the Araucariaceae, from the lover of these magnificent trees through the propagator, to plants person/gardener, scientist, botanist including many other avenues of interest with valuable information from International Personnel presenting papers.

'The Proceedings' are being published:   We wish to invite those interested in purchasing 'The Proceedings' to respond by sending an email from the link and submitting it to be recorded by Graeme Platt.  Publishing and Pricing details etc., will be notified when available.

Please read on for further information on 'The Proceedings'

Introduction

The Araucariaceae, comprising the Agathis, Araucaria, Wollemia genera, is arguably the most magnificent family of trees to have ever graced our planet. They have been widely admired for their beauty and utilised for their highly esteemed timber, nut and shelter qualities. Because of the increasing fascination worldwide with subjects related to the dinosaur age and the "greening of Gondwana", the revival of interest in the Araucariaceae is both timely and justified.

"The Proceedings" will include papers as follows:

· Papers will be presented in English and collated to be formally published as the definitive work on the Araucariaceae to date.
